MEET NADINE

Nadine Inkster MC, RCC BCACC #25838

Life brings challenges at every stage, and each phase can present new and complex experiences. Whether you are navigating a crisis or managing ongoing stress, counselling can help you better understand your emotions, clarify your needs, and find a path forward.

About Me

I genuinely love being a counsellor and feel honoured to support people in their journey of growth and self-reflection. I am naturally curious about how people experience the world, and I am always exploring new ways to better support my clients. I believe that everyone deserves to experience love, kindness, and compassion, and I strive to bring those values into every session. The foundation of my practice is based on the understanding that you are more than what has happened to you, and learning what is going well in your life and focusing on your strengths is a powerful tool to find meaning and joy.

In our work together, I will listen deeply and help you explore your emotions with care and curiosity. I also support you in learning how to tune into your body, recognize what it is communicating, and understand the connection between your emotions, thoughts, and physical experiences. Along the way, I offer practical skills and tools when they are helpful.

I hold a Master's of Counselling degree from City University of Seattle and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Simon Fraser University. My professional background includes substantial experience in the mental health field, with meaningful experience working with complex family dynamics and communication challenges with a foundation in fostering positive interactions that support overall well-being.

In my personal time, I am an avid photographer, gardener and repurposer of junk. I love building, movies, reading and being creative.

Finding a counsellor that you connect with is important and sometimes overwhelming. If you think I might be a good fit for you, I invite you to book a free 15-minute virtual consultation so we can explore whether working together feels like the right fit.

I would like to acknowledge that I live, gather and work on the unceded, ancestral and traditional territory of the sc̓əwaθən məsteyəxʷ Tsawwassen First Nation and xʷməθkʷəy̓əm Musqueam Indian Band and of all the Hun’qumi’num speaking people.  I offer my enormous respect and empathy for those who have come before me, their joys and accomplishments and acknowledge the deep impacts of cocolonization and harm.

As a helper to this community, I reflect on my role and responsibility within history and I acknowledge that I am accountable to this land that is prosperous with guidance. Its rivers, oceans, forests and animals are all part of the ecosystem that bring peace and contentment. I am committed to approaching my work with humility, respect, and a willingness to listen and learn and understanding that healing and care are deeply rooted in connection to the land, its history and to each other.
