Why is the consultation important?

The goal of the free 15-minute online consultation chat has two components.

The first is to go over a few housekeeping rules, including confidentiality and its limits, and my cancellation policy.

Secondly, it is an opportunity for you to share a bit about what brings you to counselling and what you hope to achieve. I will also share my therapeutic approach and answer any questions you may have, so we can both determine if we would be a good fit to work together.

However, if you would like to skip this and book an appointment, I can go over these details at your first appointment.

What is the first session like, and how many do I need?

Your first session is about getting to know each other and exploring your reasons for wanting counselling. We will discuss your hopes and goals and work out a plan to best support you.

I recommend 4 weekly sessions, then switch to 4 bimonthly sessions. If you would like a more fluid plan, you are encouraged to book when you are feeling the need for guidance and extra support in your life. The priority is you and what makes sense to you.

How long are sessions and what do they cost?

Consultation - Virtual

  • 15 minutes - Free

Individual Sessions – In-person or Virtual

  • 60 minutes - $150 | 90 Minutes - $225

Family and Couple Sessions – In-person or Virtual

  • 60 minutes - $175 | 90 Minutes - $262.50

How do I book an appointment?

After booking a free 15 minute consultation session, email Inkstercounselling@gmail.com or text 604-722-7337 to book the rest of your appointments.

What forms of payment do you take?

Payment is due at the closing of all sessions. I accept e-transfers to Inkstercounselling@gmail.com or cash.

Are the sessions covered by Extended Health Insurance?

I am registered with BCACC, and many plans support the use of Registered Clinical Counsellors (RCC # 25838). After each session, you will receive an invoice with the appropriate information for submitting a claim to your extended Health for reimbursement.

I would like to acknowledge that I live, gather and work on the unceded, ancestral and traditional territory of the sc̓əwaθən məsteyəxʷ Tsawwassen First Nation and xʷməθkʷəy̓əm Musqueam Indian Band and of all the Hun’qumi’num speaking people.  I offer my enormous respect and empathy for those who have come before me, their joys and accomplishments and acknowledge the deep impacts of cocolonization and harm.

As a helper to this community, I reflect on my role and responsibility within history and I acknowledge that I am accountable to this land that is prosperous with guidance. Its rivers, oceans, forests and animals are all part of the ecosystem that bring peace and contentment. I am committed to approaching my work with humility, respect, and a willingness to listen and learn and understanding that healing and care are deeply rooted in connection to the land, its history and to each other.
